Happy Birthday Grandpa Buddy!
On Friday Taani's parents and brother Kyle came to visit. And coincidentially it was Buddy's birthday! We had two great cakes, the girls made a banner (in the background) and we had a little party. We love when they drive over from Cali to visit us and always hate the morning they leave.

CHEER CAMP PICTURES
Sorry to go back to this, but forgot to share these from the Desert Vista High School Cheer Camp that Hattie and Neeley attended. For all those without girls...this is what you are missing. Did someone say my next kid is a boy? Cha ching.
Pretty cute and these girls thought they were in the big leauge with the actual cheerleaders. Isn't it great to be a kid?

A Hattie & Neeley Favorite!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=06cF1mnSBG0
So we have a fun tradition where we search for funny videos on YouTube before bed. We found this one and its been a "gal request" ever since. Neeley says, "Dad, Dad, let's watch the Color Video!"
The gals love watching this. Maybe this video is old news, but we get a kick out of it. Has anyonne else seen this? I even read the lyrics...they're clean.A Quilt for a Soldier
Go Taani Go! Hattie's kindergarten teacher has a relative going off to serve in Iraq. He came and spoke to the kids in her class. From that they decided to make him a quilt. So...Taani went to school, obtained all the kids hand prints in the shape of hearts and put it all together today. What a great idea and a great way for five-year-olds to support our troops! Go Taani.
Article about solider in paper click HERE. This was Hattie's class.
That @%#* DOG!

Taani made a chocolate Texas sheet cake on Friday. It was sitting covered on the counter on Saturday when we went to run errands. Millie (our very old lab) in our absence, went counter surfing (this has happened before) and ate most of the cake. When we walked in we figured out Millie had eaten it and we blurted out, "Millie (pronounced in the same way Jerry Sienfeld says NEWMAN)..."
Neeley took it from there and blurted out, "Millie, you DAMN dog. You damn, damn, damn, damn dog!" Taani and I passed glances at one another with eyes as wide as could be. I wonder where she learned that? Yikes. Where are her parents?

GO THUNDER GO!
Twice a year our local high schools (Desert Vista home of the Thunder) put on a little Cheer clinic for the kids in the community. From it have come some funny cheers we hear around the house. Well, last night Neeley and Hattie performed at the half-time game. Thanks Uncle Valoy, Aunt Sally, Ellie and Sophie for coming to watch! They love it and when you see them you should ask about the following:

- Little Sally Walker
- Go Thunder Go!
- Smash Potato
- Big fish, little fish!

Drumroll Please....AND THE GENDER IS...
We had the ultrasound today at 3:30pm. Afterwards Hattie came with me to my office - she loves to work at the other desk. Here's what she drew while "working at my office" and consequently, I find this the best way to announce what we are having! We're all excited. Hattie confidently told us... "I knew it was going to be a boy!"
FRIDAYS ROCK!
Today was one of those days that the "should be doings" way out number the "wanna be doings." The routine was being executed flawlessly right up to dropping Hattie off for school, until Neeley (with her big blue eyes) said, "Dad, can we go for a bike ride." The schedule was cleared and we headed out for a 1.5 hour ride. It was a great time! I think I am learning the "should be doings" are far less than important...
