My Father-in-Law Is Going to Be So Proud!

  • Taani was out.

  • Kids gave me a run for my money. Finally got them to bed.

  • I went into our master bath, turned on the light and this little guy was looking straight at me on our bath mat. Hummm...in all my years here, lizards have been OUTSIDE, not INSIDE.

  • We've joked for years that I don't have the genetic make-up found in the Harrison clan. It seems the knack for catching green slimy things runs in their family, but not in mine.

  • So, Buddy, this may be small peanuts compared to your outback adventures but I did it, with my own hands in the bathroom with a drinking glass.

Watch out lizard kingdom, I'm mad and I now have skills.

NOTE: No lizards were harmed as part of this blog.

Hattie's Poem Took 1st @ District for Kindergarteners. Way to go H!
We Love You!
The Gold Glitter by Hattie Secrist

Glittery, glittery
all around me.I spill the glitter on me
and I look like
I am wearing a gold dress.
I pretend I am at a ball
and my brother is my prince
and we dance together
while the music plays.
We are under the moon
and the stars sparkle like the glitter
in my dress.

*Dedicated to my new baby brother, West.

The SUMMER is HERE!
We swam and swam yesterday and Neeley didn't even make it through dinner (and we had grilled steak). The process of giving in was hilarious to watch. She would lift a bit of meat and her eyes would glaze over and bob and then eventually her head hit the table. Ah, the power of swimming to wear our kids out.

This morning Neeley asked us if we wanted her to die (I know, incredibly strange). Which is a very shocking question as a parent. So, we clarified NO! It was apparent the question was asked in the innocence of a child. She's just making sense of things and the world she lives in. So it passed and we went on with our morning.

Later this morning we asked why she asked that and if she knew what it meant. Hattie chimed in trying to make sense of it saying, "She wants to go and live with Heavenly Father." We then looked at Neeley and she responsed quite loudly:

"NO I DON'T!"

And ran off with her jump rope. Ah Neeley, we love her.
