Need a good laugh?

I know Christmas is long over, but this still gave me a good chuckle.

January in Arizona

I love Arizona winters. (who doesn't??) Yesterday was one of the coldest we've seen in a while topping out at a freezing 64 degrees. BURRR. So, to combat the winter blues, Diana heated up the hot tub and all the cousins went swimming. The hot tub looked like kid soup. Kids everywhere!!! Some even braved it and jumped in the freezing pool. For some reason, I didn't get any pictures of the kids in the hot tub. I think managing Westy had something to do with it.

Hattie in the big pool.

Hattie with Westy in hot tub. He just thought it was a big party in the bathtub!

I think Tristen said it best on her recent post. I love it when my kids love the people I have always loved. Here is a great example. Westy ADORES grandpa. A true love affair. Very circle of life-ish.
(Tris, can you edit this picture for me? It turned out terribly, but I still love it anyway.)

The boss

My conversation with Neeley in the car this morning:

Me: Neeley, what do you want to be when you grow up?
Neeley: I want to be the boss. (pause) I get to be the boss if I'm a mom. I want to be a mom.

We like to raise strong, bossy women over here.

Symbiotic Relationship

Symbiotic Relationship: a relationship between two entities which is mutually beneficial to both participants of the relationship.

Participants: Millie, the dog and Wild Westy.
Millie waits patiently....

Still waiting...
(be glad you weren't here for the scream that I so effectively captured on film)

Or this scream.

Oh wait...Westy feeding Millie the remainder of his dinner.

Success! And Millie will forever be waiting underneath Westy's chair.

bored

I've had a few troubles with my Nikon 18-66 mm lense recently and needed to truly diagnose the problem. Neeley was my not so willing subject, but I sat her down in front of the tube and she willingly complied.

Okay, Neeley -BIG smile...

What I'm going to be doing when I'm a Grandma...

At the Fiesta Bowl parade, these lovely grandmas performed their cheerleading routine. They are so cool. I hope I'm that cool when I'm a grandma. Since I wasn't a cheerleader, I think I need to start practicing now...

Girlies at the parade.

Tooth Fairy and Santa in one night!

Have we mentioned before that Grandpa P. is the BEST at pulling teeth? We spent Christmas eve at their house (eating the best crab EVER!). Before the Nativity, Grandpa took one look at Hattie's super loose tooth and pop! Grandpa was quick to hand over some pre-tooth fairy money and Hattie is sure she will have Grandpa pull her teeth out every time. He's much better than the tooth fairy!

Before the tooth came out.
After the dirty deed. They couldn't find the tooth for a while. Thank you David for searching like a madman on that light travertine.

St. Mary's Food Bank

Before Christmas, we were able to participate in a great food drive with Ryan's office. To show their gratitude, St. Mary's food bank took us on a tour of their facilities. I was so impressed with how smoothly and efficiently they run. Because of their buying power, $1 is enough to feed 7 units. (7 meals) Hattie had donated a few of her precious dollars so to be able to explain what actually will happen with her money was such a wonderful learning opportunity. Great job to our KW family!

No pants... are you in???

I'm finally back!!!! Modern medicine, I owe you one... Christmas, sayonara and good riddance.

Until I get my camera back from Ryan (bring it home babe, please!), no pictures to post, but this will tide me over.

I WISH I lived in NYC. How come PHoenix doesn't do cool things like this? You know I would HAVE to be there...with modified undies, of course.
