Rock Solid

Every now and then, we gather with family and friends and go out to Craig's Rock Solid plant and play in the HUGE sand piles. Seriously, my kids look forward to this for days. Trucks everywhere, sand everywhere, and delicious food. I think the only place I can eat a hot dog is at a baseball game and at the sand piles.
Uncle Craig was so good to let every one who wanted take a ride in the truck. Ever since having a boy, I am learning the truck and car terminology. I think this is a loader?? Westy would know.

Check out the moon! It was so big and beautiful that evening. Cute picture of kids, but the moon was even more amazing!

This is Westy's dream. Sand, dirt, boy cousins, and trucks, trucks, trucks. This is love.

Lunch visitor

Ryan has been out of town for a while so he took yesterday off of work to catch up on some family time. What did we do? Sent the kids to school of course! We had a great day of hiking, catching up on some house work, and odds and ends. Ryan surprised Neeley and met her for lunch in the cafa-gym-atorium. When Ryan was putting her to bed last night, she made a special request that he surprise her again the next day.

Ryan is going for the Justin Bieber look in this photo. Is it working on a 36 year old man? You tell me..

Snowbird wishing

I heard someone say the other day that Phoenix is like living on the surface of the sun. It is just plain old ugly, brown and HOT!!! Today is forecasted to be a bit cooler at a whopping 102 degrees. Nice. I'm breaking out my parka now.

This summer, we had a great family trip to Utah to see Ryan's family and spent a day doing all the fun things there is to do at Snowbird. Even though it was over the fourth of July weekend, we were so cold we even had to buy sweatshirts!!!

Wishing we were there enjoying the cool weather now...

What the what???? How'd he get in the picture?

Toilet Troubles...

Remember this post?

Or how about this one?

Well, well, well. He got us too.

I do have to say though, I'm thrilled I didn't have to replace the toilet. I'm equally thrilled my cell phone wasn't involved. Not so thrilled about having the beloved "gangket" anywhere near the retrieval of the toilet toy.

Swim Team!

I fully recognize that I have been very delinquent in my blogging. It has been a long few weeks and I just needed to take a bit of a blogging vacation.

I do miss, however, keeping my family's record up to date. I love going through old posts and seeing how far we have come and how quickly my family is growing and changing. My blog is really for my own family more than it is for anyone else. It really doesn't matter to me if anyone reads (although I love your comments!), but it really is a record of our family's journey at this phase in life. As Tristen says, this is a guilt free blog. No trying to update everything that has happened, but I do want to record a few significant happenings in the last few weeks.

If you were to ask me what we did this summer, my kids would emphatically yell "swim team!!" This was our second year and Hattie actually moved up with the older kiddos. What great swimmers!

For some reason, Hattie refuses to wear her hair back or wear goggles. The coaches kept trying to get her to try goggles, but she just insists that they don't help her!
